Star Trek: Starbase 777 - sec-briefing-room

He stood at the front of the room awaiting most of his department.

She walked in and leaned against a wall. "Ready for some fun?" She said with a bright smile.

She walked in, padd in hand with a slightly concerned but excited facial expression on her face.

He gestured to both his holstered phasers. "I've been waiting far too long to avenge our fallen comrades."

"Oh, I'm not here for revenge. I'm here to make sure they live to see their downfall. Living with failure is a much worse fate than death." Quite ironic seeing she was litterally armed to the teeth with blades and a phaser.

"Just remember to be careful." She says carefully. "I know you guys want revenge...and downfalls. But you have to remember to be smart about this. Don't rush in, General Kuntoj wouldn't have just released the information for fun. Who would want their enemies to come to free their prisoners? We had no way of knowing they were still even a change they were alive before."

"Hello, Ensign I hadn't realized you had arrived. I wanted to request that you stay by my side during the mission, I could use someone with your aim. As for your comment you don't need to worry about that, my number one goal is to minimize bloodshed among our people."

"The mission is to save the crew, not to cause bloodshed. So I'll stick to that primary objective, Ensign. No need to worry." She said with a reassuring smile before pulling her knife and checking the blade. It was a little shorter and lighter than she'd hoped, but she could work with it in a pinch.

"I-, yes Sir. I'm not talking about blood shed though. Sometimes blood shed is necessary. I'm talking about not rushing in. I know it might seem obvious but don't let your losses cloud your judgement." She knew she probably sounded like a broken record but she had seen what would happen if they did and it wasn't pretty.

"I assure you, I'm quite confident I can make the decisions that will ensure the best outcome for our people. They didn't make me Lieutenant for nothing." He chuckled.

"Trust me when I say I've had my fair share of extraction missions, Ensign. I'll know what I'm doing down there." She grinned a little and holstered her knife again.

"Your right, sorry." She nodded, she knew he was a good Officer and the she seemed like a good one too. She just had to make sure. "I'm sure you two know what your doing."

"Don't worry ensign, you'll be with me the whole time. If you really think I'm messing up you can point it out."

"Sir, I'm sure that won't be necessary." She assured him. She hoped so anyway, she was on no position to correct her Commanding Officer.

He began closely inspecting his phasers making sure they were in tip top condition. Awaiting there task at the station.

Austin spoke loudly to address all security crew present. "We are to equip type 3 phaser rifles, keep them on stun unless absolutely necessary. We can save our people together. Remember guys United we will overcome."

She nods and began to equip the phaser rifles, keeping them on stun like he had said.

Austin took his phasers out of their holsters and set them to stun. He looked around to ensure everyone was ready. "Allright to the transporter room guys."

"Yes Sir." She finished setting her phasers to stun and followed one of the officers out the door.

They enter into the hub and Jessil walks over to a chair to sit and winces as her burned ankle brushes against the leg of the table. She adjusts her grip on the energy whip in her hand and she realizes she still has it. While waiting for a superior officer to come debrief them she lifts up the weapon to study it.

Austin looked directly at Emin with no distinct expression on his face. His uniform was still torn and bloody. "Ensign I would like to debrief you first."

She jumped and dropped the energy whip on the table and scrambled to pick it back up. "Lieutenant! Wha-they couldn't spare anyone else? You don't exactly look like your in the best condition..."

"They don't need to spare anyone else, I always debrief my own squad personally." He let slip a slight grin but showed nothing more.

"What, what do you mean by that?" She squints her eyes at him suspicious. "Are you supposed to be here Lieutenant?"

"That is a layered question Ensign but, you should know in the debriefing I will be the one who asks the questions."

"But if your hurt you need to rest." She argues. "Or it'll only get worse! Get someone else or I'll comm sickbay right now."

"Ensign... even if I'm back in sickbay I'm still debriefing you eventually. I won't bite, I promise that I won't even raise my voice at all."

"All I'm saying is that your hurt and you need to heal."

"Ensign" He spoke sternly "You're only making this harder."

She drew her hand to her commbadge threateningly. "Lieutenant..."

"Ensign... I'm not gonna punish you. Besides I've allready been treated. He turned halfway around just look she allready healed my back." He spoke in a calming, inviting voice.

He stood there silently staring at her, daring her to report him.

[Comms] "Ensign Emin to Sickbay, is Lieutenant Whidbey supposed to be out and about?"

He shrugged. "Well ensign I suppose I'll be debriefing you when I get out properly then. Have a good one until then."

"You too Sir." She nods. "I'll see you later, when your nice and healed."

"Mhm... well good luck..." He left the room.

She watched as he left before leaning back in her chair. She winces and lifts her arm up, welp. Looks like she missed a scratch.

Austin peaked back into the room with a devious look on his face. "You know what ensign... I think you need to join me in sickbay. Just look at that leg of yours."

"Get on to sickbay, Sir. There's nothing wrong with my leg...it's my ankle, and it's fine. Just a small burn that I've already treated." She assured him as her hands played with the energy whip in her grasp.

"Ensign... I don't like to pull rank but... I'm ordering you to go to sickbay."

"What? But I-." She stood up quickly. "But Sir, Sickbay needs room for those who really need it! All I have are a couple of scratches and a slight burn. Sir, please."

"You need treatment ensign." He spoke in a fatherly voice.

"What? Fine. I mean, Yes, Sir." She grumbled and walked out of the room, energy whip still clutched in her hand.

"Leave that." He then began walking back to sickbay.

'But Sir!" She reenters and drops it back on the table as she had no excuse. She leaves again, glaring at the Lieutenant.

She entered and grabbed the energy whip as well as informed the rest of the team Lieutenant Whidbey would debrief them all separately before leaving.

He began individually debriefing the men who he was with pointing out there flaws and triumphs alike.

After giving a couple briefings Austin left the sec briefing room to go write his own log.
